• How do I reserve donor semen?
  
   

  There are two ways you can reserve donor semen: 1) You may reserve specimens online, or 2) You may contact Cryos NY at (212) 430-5950.

  With regards to both forms of making a reservation, Cryos NY requires clients to complete a Patient Agreement as well as a Storage Agreement. You may download the documents by clicking the links below:

• Can I reserve semen from the same donor for siblings?
  
   

  Of course you can reserve semen from the same donor to have 100% genetic siblings. However, it depends on whether the specimens from that specific donor are available for sale. Donors do not remain apart of the donation program at Cryos NY indefinitely. Donors can discontinue donating for a number of reasons, for example, they moved out of New York City, got married and do not want to continue donating, the specimens are sold out, etc.
  
  Therefore, it is a good idea to consider reserving specimens from specific donors in advance to guarantee that you have the specimens available for future inseminations. All reservations of donor semen require payment in full. Cryos NY offers a refund policy where if you have unused donor samples stored at Cryos NY, Cryos NY will refund you 75% of the original purchase price of the straws.

• How much donor semen should I reserve?
  
   

  This depends on how many children you desire to have as well as your overall fertility health.

  According to fertility clinics and specialists in the United States, it takes on average 3 to 4 intra-uterine inseminations to achieve a successful pregnancy using less than 1.0 mL of semen. Fertility specialists and clinics suggest a motile sperm count of between 10 million and 20 million per insemination. Given that Cryos NY packages its specimens in 0.5 mL straws, it will take per child between 6 and 8 IUI MOT10 or MOT20 straws. For two children, it will take on average 12 to 16 straws and for three children 18 to 24 straws.
